EADGENE and SABRE Post-analyses Workshop
12-14th November 2008
Animal Sciences Group, Wageningen UR, Lelystad
Following on from the success of the EADGENE Microarray Data Analysis Workshop (1-3 November 2006, Tune, Denmark), a joint EADGENE and SABRE working group on post-analyses of microarray data was set up. The aim of the working group was to to evaluate and present already existing methods and software, and potentially to propose new methods to deal with the post-analyses of microarray data, using real data sourced from within EADGENE and SABRE.
The members of this working group presented and discussed their findings at the EADGENE and SABRE Post-analyses Workshop (12-14th November 2008, Lelystad, NL).
Methods and Software:
-
Oligo Annotation (fully integrated with an EADGENE WP1.3 (bioinformatics) annotation workshop) – Group Leader: Christophe Klopp (INRA)
-
Pathways, including tissue analysis and biological meaning – Group Leader: Jakob Hedegaard (University of Aarhus)
- QTL and Microarray - Group Leader: DJ de Koning (Roslin)
- Phenotype prediction – Group Leader: Magali San-Cristobal (INRA)
- Gene Networks - Group Leader: Florence Jaffrezic (INRA)
Data:
Two data sets were provided by EADGENE and SABRE research groups:
-
Data set 1: Chicken infection data provided by Annemarie Rebel's group at ASG Lelystad.
-
Data set 2: Pig adrenal sensitivity data provided by Pierre Mormede's group at INRA. The data has been published and further details of the experimental design are given in: Dominique Hazard, Laurence Liaubet, Magali SanCristobal and Pierre Mormède (2008). Gene array and real time PCR analysis of the adrenal sensitivity to adrenocorticotropic hormone in pig. BMC Genomics 2008, 9:101, doi:10.1186/1471-2164-9-101.
